Ready for a side of irony with your professional social networking? The most popular self-descriptor this year on LinkedIn profiles, at least for Americans, was “creative.”
As Michael V. Copeland points out on Wired.com, this is about as uncreative a choice as you can possibly make.
In fact, the terms you choose to describe yourself depend greatly on where you’re from. LinkedIn’s year-end buzzword analysis found, among other interesting factoids, that Swiss workers are inclined to describe themselves as “analytical,” while Indian employees feel that they’re “effective.”
In the infographic below, you’ll find the full list of top terms workers used to describe themselves. If you really want to be creative and effective — or even experimental and specialized — you’ll want to avoid overusing any of them.
