A Step-by-Step Guide on How to Find Recruiters on LinkedIn [infographic]

It takes more than simply creating a LinkedIn profile to catch the attention of recruiters during online job searches. In the infographic beneath the cut, AvidCareerist.com provides a step-by-step guide to help online job seekers proactively seek out recruiters on LinkedIn and get their resumes front and center.

First things first: sign on to your LinkedIn profile and use the Advanced Search Function, rather than the general search. Next, follow these six steps and prepare to embark on your recruiter hunting session:

Step 1: In the Title field enter the following search verbiage:

“candidate OR diversity OR employee referral OR employment OR headhunter OR recruiter OR recruiting OR recruitment OR search OR sourcer OR sourcing OR staffing OR talent”

Note: Ensure that you select “Current” in the drop-down list under the Title field.

Step 2: Select the following options under the Industries field:

1. Human Resources
2. Staffing & Recruiting
3. Any other industries related to your field of work.

Step 3: Ensure that the All LinkedIn Members box is selected under the Relationships field.

Step 4: In the Keywords field, enter industry-related keywords that pertain to your line of work (e.g. civil engineer, survey, engineering, construction manager, etc.).

Step 5: This step is for candidates who are interested in learning more about the recruiting habits of a company of interest:

1. Follow Step 1, above.
2. For Step 2, check All Industries.
3. Enter the company name in the Company field and select “Current” in the drop-down list under the Company field.

Step 6: To further narrow your search results for recruiters, add any additional information about your industry in the Keywords field and add a specific Location or radius to search.
