There’s no doubt that more mothers are wanting to return back to the workforce, post-baby. CityTownInfo.com’s infographic points out that women make up nearly half of the U.S. workforce, according to a 2013 Pew Research Center study. What’s more, the study found that “mothers are now the primary (or sole) source of income for 40 percent of American households with children under 18 years of age.” Hooray to all the working mothers who made this remarkable statistic possible — well played, ladies.

Part-time or seasonal work is great for mothers who just want to make some extra cash for the family. Many businesses, especially retailers, are gearing up for the holiday season by hiring seasonal employees to help with the spike in business (and chaos) during the holidays (particularly Black Friday and Christmas shopping). Some employment options for mothers during the holiday season include gift wrappers, retail associates, virtual assistants/employees, and selling homemade gifts online. It’s important to be realistic of your time availability when scouting out jobs because you can’t fulfill a full-time obligation if you only have part-time availability.
