What Do IT Specialists Do? [infographic]

Let’s be honest. Some of us don’t know what it is that an IT specialist actually does. This Orsyp infographic clears up the confusion.

There are seven main areas of the information technology industry. Software specialists maintain, update and design software. Programming specialists write the code for the programs the software specialists design. There are also technical writers involved. Their job is to write the documentation for the software in a way that consumers can understand.

Database specialists design databases to store information and are responsible for keeping the data secure. Networking specialists maintain the network. They install and maintain Internet connections and sometimes run the help desk. Web specialists design websites, while hardware specialists are responsible for designing, repairing and maintaining computers and hardware.
