The Best Work-Life Apps for Freelancers [infographic]

Topics:

You might think that remote workers have it easy when it comes to balancing the demands of work and play, but this infographic by BestVendor shows this isn’t the case. The firm polled 97 global telecommuters to arrive at this list of the best work-life apps for freelancers. Did any of your favorites make the cut?

Three themes emerged from the research. Freelancers overwhelmingly prefer cloud-based solutions over desktop apps, no doubt for the flexibility and accessibility of these tools. They also are looking for apps that address clients, productivity, marketing and finances. And when it comes to selecting one app over another, freelancers look for the best tool for the job, even if that means using a new consumer app for business.

When it comes to the most popular work-life apps, chances are good that you can guess most of the top 25. They include Google products like Voice, Gmail, Calendar and Analytics; virtual collaboration tools like Evernote, Dropbox, Basecamp and GoToMeeting; and financial tools like Freshbooks, Mint and Quickbooks. Other apps that are bubbling up to the mainstream, though, include Expensify, Outright, Remember the Milk and Jing.

Check out the full infographic below. Freelancers, are any of your favorite apps missing from this list?
