Want to be a billionaire businessperson some day? You can start first thing in the morning, by selecting a well-rounded collection of reading material. (No wonder CEOs and entrepreneurs tend to get up so early.)

Business Insider recently ran a list of 16 successful people’s morning reading material. The first thing you’ll notice is that everyone on this list reads a lot each morning. Even people who are primarily known for appearing on television, like Shepherd Smith, get their news the old-fashioned way — by reading it.
Here are few folks whose morning reading habits will inspire you:
1. Bill Gates
The founder of Microsoft and billionaire philanthropist reads three newspapers cover to cover each morning: The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist. He also gets a daily news digest.
2. Barack Obama.
The president reads The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Wall Street Journal. He also cops to reading “a blog or two” on a daily basis.
3. Warren Buffett
Investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett reads six local and national newspapers every day, including The Omaha World-Herald and The Financial Times.
There you have it: if you want to be a success, you probably need to start by learning more about the world around you. As an added bonus, by carving out a little time to catch up on the news each morning, you’ll avoid getting stressed out by jumping right into your email.
Of course, the downside to this is that it means getting up earlier. But if you want to be the next Warren Buffett or Bill Gates, that’s the price you’ll have to pay.

The Economist is a weekly periodical. Doubt that Gates read it cover to cover each morning. And makes you wonder how well this article was researched in the first place…
