Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are becoming more mainstream. Some of the top-ranked institutions in the nation are offering them for free. But with so many now on the market, it’s easy to get lost in a sea of options. Here’s a list of some of the best MOOCs, according to Business Insider.

1. Duke: A Beginner’s Guide to Irrational Behavior.
This eight-week course has no prerequisite except that the pupil come equipped with curiosity about human nature. The class examines human behavior, which we well know is unpredictable and defies logic. Dan Ariely, Duke professor and author of the best-selling behavioral science tome “Predictably Irrational,” teaches the course, which demands up to 10 hours a week of commitment. Sign up here.
2. Udacity: Artificial Intelligence.
Here’s a class, offered through the online school Udacity, that helped bring popular awareness to MOOCs. This course, based on a popular one offered at Stanford, covers the fundamentals of AI in the modern age. You can enroll right here.
3. Udacity: How to Build a Startup.
Another offering from Udacity, this self-paced curriculum takes you through the process of starting your own startup, from developing a concept to making it profitable. Check it out.
4. UPenn/Coursera: Health Policy and the Affordable Care Act.
Years after it became law, “Obamacare” remains a polarizing and largely misunderstood talking point in the American public. Since it affects pretty much every business and anyone who’s involved in the country’s healthcare system, it might be worth your while to spend a few hours learning about this law, but also the broader context of healthcare’s history in the United States.
