5 Weird Desk Toys of the Rich and Famous

Topics:

What’s a desk without desk toys? Most of us have a stress ball or bobblehead or two hanging around our workspaces. But famous folks really step up their office decorating game.

Vanity Fair recently ran this amazing slideshow featuring the work areas of celebrities. Fortunately for us, it looks like they didn’t bother to pick up first. A few highlights:

Do You Know What You're Worth?

1. Pepto Bismol — and pictures of golf courses.

“South Park” co-creator Trey Parker has this tummy soother on his desk, plus a bunch of pictures of places he’d like to hang out, when not inventing dialogue for potty-mouthed elementary school students.

2. Musical instruments.

Mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has three guitars in his office. Easy to do, if you have brick walls and a door that locks, but stick to souvenir maracas if you share a cubicle.

3. A bronze horse.

Designer Carolina Herrera has this sculpture on her desk, and although it’s a legit objet d’art, it still reminds us sort of the horse statue from the Brady Bunch. Points for being both classy and inadvertently kitschy.

4. Awards.

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin has about a billion Emmys in his office. Beats the heck out of our bowling trophies.

5. The nicest office supply caddy ever.

No surprise that Martha Stewart knows how to keep things organized. She uses an antique brass coin holder to store paper clips, rubber bands, and thumbtacks.
