When you think of work-from-home jobs, do you think of low-paying customer service gigs – or outright scams, like stuffing envelopes? If so, it’s time to expand your horizons.

While there are plenty of low-wage jobs and fraudulent “opportunities” out there, high-paying work-from-home jobs do exist. Depending on your skills and experience, you might be able to earn six figures without ever going into the office.

“It’s a common misconception that work-from-home jobs are scams, only exist in specific industries like customer service or data entry, and are lower-paying, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” said Sara Sutton, CEO & Founder of FlexJobs, in a statement. “In fact, the average telecommuter earns a higher median salary than an in-office worker. As more companies adopt remote work policies, there are growing opportunities for meaningful and high-paying careers across industries to be built while working from home. And with today’s tight labor market, highly qualified professionals are in a prime position to land a high-paying job that includes highly coveted remote work options.”

FlexJobs recently released a list, 15 Remote Jobs with $100K+ Salaries. These are jobs from their database that are listed as remote and offer salaries of $100,000 or more per year. While similar jobs may not offer the same flexibility and/or salary, this roundup is a good reminder that there are high-paying work-from-home jobs out there, if you have the right skills and know where to look.

Do You Know What You're Worth?

5 High-Paying Work-From-Home Jobs

Here are a few from their list:

1. Business Development Director

Some employers prefer candidates with an MBA for Business Development Director roles, but the job advertised on FlexJobs requires only a bachelor’s degree. The salary is higher than average, as well: $150,000 per year, compared with $102,888 average annual salary, per PayScale.

2. Lead Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineers typically earn six figures, so the listed salary of $120,000 to $160,000 probably isn’t out of line with your expectations if you work in this field. This job involves building clinical performance applications for a hospital setting, and is open to engineers with at least two years of experience.

3. Curriculum Lead

Similar to a Curriculum Developer or Curriculum Director job — but with higher than average pay — this job involves developing curriculum strategy and content. The salary range is $130,000 to $150,000 per year, according to FlexJobs’ listing.

4. Venture Fund Senior Tax Accountant

Open to CPAs with five years of experience, this job pays $120,000 per year — about $50,000 more than typical for Senior Tax Accountants, according to our data. This role involves acting as a subject matter expert for product development, as well as overseeing tax return preparation.

5. Workers Compensation Defense Attorney

Here’s an unusual work-from-home job: a full-time telecommuting role for a Workers Compensation Defense Attorney. The ad promises “manageable caseload and autonomy” — a welcome change for many in this field. The listed salary is $100,000 to $125,000 annually, in line with the range for Attorneys per PayScale data.
