Keeping employees happy is an important part of running any business. It helps reduce turnover, makes employees more productive and can even boost your bottom line. Yast put together the below infographic to outline what really makes employees happy.
Workers have cited several reasons for not wanting to leave their current employer — enjoying work (80 percent), work-life fit (76 percent), feeling connected to the organization (67 percent) and being able to make a difference (57 percent). Receiving recognition for work is also a major factor in employee happiness. Seventy-nine percent of employees say they want to receive rewards at the end of the year, while 65 percent said they would work harder if they received recognition for their work.
Benefits and salary are also a major factor in keeping employees happy. Sixty-seven percent of workers between the ages of 35 and 44 say they will stay with their employees because of the pay, while 54 percent of workers between the ages of 18 and 34 said good benefits were the reason they stayed with their current employer.
