Join Us for Equal Power Day at PayScale HQ

Topics: Career Advice

Last year, PayScale hosted its first ever Equal Pay Day event. The event involved over 150 local men and women, plus thousands on Facebook who tuned in to the panel discussion we broadcasted live on Facebook.

We’re doing it again, and it’s going to be even bigger and better than ever. So, this Equal Pay Day, we’re flipping the script and instead talking about equal power for women, which ultimately leads to equal pay.

Join us at PayScale HQ on Tuesday April 10th for Equal Power Day.

  • Where: PayScale Headquarters, 1000 1st Ave S in Seattle.
  • Tickets: Secure your free ticket here.
  • When: Tuesday, April 10th from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
  • What: We’re hosting three guest speakers to discuss challenges and solutions to overcoming the gender wage gap, and how to claim your power in the modern business world. We will also provide free swag, breakfast, and a full coffee bar so you can get your caffeine fix. Our speakers include:

Tanya Tarr, author and contributor to Forbes.

Tanya Tarr is a regular contributor to Forbes on topics including leadership, negotiation techniques and equal pay, and is the author of Practice Makes Power: How To Win Negotiations at Work, at Home and at the Capitol. She spent 20 years managing political and legislative advocacy campaigns across the United States, helping hundreds of people run for all sorts of offices — ranging from local school boards to five Presidential campaigns. She has a master’s degree in Performance Measurement from Carnegie Mellon University and is a certified behavioral consultant, facilitator and coach.

Tracy Lawrence, CEO and co-founder of Chewse.

Tracy was recently named Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2018. Tracy has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California where she was awarded 2011 Student Entrepreneur of the Year. After starting her business in a college dorm room, she has since raised $15M in financing for the company. Chewse is feeding thousands of employees delicious meals from local San Francisco and Los Angeles restaurants daily. Tracy indulges in an unhealthy love of farmers’ markets, pita and hummus, and surfing. She loves helping and mentoring entrepreneurs, since she wants to give back to the virtuous cycle that got her here today.

Cate Goethals, leadership coach and business professor from UW

A certified leadership coach and longtime business professor at the University of Washington, Cate’s many programs include the UW Foster Women Board Director Development Program and seminars on board resumes, seat-finding strategies and boardroom presence. “Women at the Top” was named by Forbes as one of the 10 “most innovative” MBA courses.
