There are several different types of flexible jobs. The label encompasses professional opportunities that involve telecommuting, part-time work, a flexible schedule or freelancing. Recent analysis from FlexJobs identifies some of the best fields for these kinds of jobs.

In order to identify these fields, the site analyzed job posting data from across 55 job categories between January 1, 2017, and September 30, 2017. Let’s take a closer look at some of the jobs available within a few of the top career fields for flexible jobs.
1. Medical & Health
Many jobs in the healthcare field provide a flexible schedule or the potential to work from home. For example, medical coders maintain patient records, and many telecommute. Similarly, some jobs associated with medical research can often be performed remotely.
2. Education & Training
The way we learn is changing right alongside the way we work. As a result, there are ample opportunities to work within the field of online education. There’s flexible work available for instructional designers, for example. Also, some professionals who work in higher education, such as adjunct professors, work part-time.
3. Computer & IT
A career in the computer and IT field could lead to all kinds of flexible work opportunities. Many of the professionals who work within this field earn a comfortable living and enjoy having the option to telecommute, including systems administrators and technical support specialists.
4. Administrative
Common flexible job titles in this field include administrative assistant, office manager and office coordinator. For those who want to work from home full-time, virtual assistant gigs provide a way to earn a living using their organization skills and administrative experience.
5. Sales
Many jobs in sales require an in-person touch, but sometimes even this kind of work can be completed on a flexible or part-time basis. Some jobs within this field, like sales representatives and account executives, can carry out many of their networking and client relationship responsibilities remotely.
