Cloud computing skills are in demand. If you’re an architect or engineer with these skills in your pocket, you can command top dollar from employers. But of course, some jobs pay better than others. PayScale recently crunched the numbers to determine the highest paying cloud computing jobs on the market today. (Forbes highlighted some key takeaways from the data.)

Let’s take a closer look at the five highest paying cloud computing jobs of 2017, according to PayScale’s analysis:

1. Enterprise Architect, IT – Median salary: $138,137.

Enterprise architects analyze technology usage and requirements and communicate their findings to stakeholders on the business side. Chegg.com describes them as being similar to a school principal, overseeing everything — “But while the Principal takes care of such things as student performance, teacher responsibilities, budgets, and school maintenance, your milieu as an Enterprise Architect doesn’t involve lunchroom tables and standardized tests. Rather, you’re concerned with an enterprise’s labor force, computer systems, structure, software usage, and missions.” Workers in this occupation generally have at least five to 10 years of IT experience, plus a degree in computer science or a related field. Pay varies by company, location and years of experience.

2. Senior Solutions Architect – Median salary: $132,004.

Senior solutions architects provide technical leadership and support, translating business requirements into solutions. Pay doesn’t vary much with experience, but most of these professionals have at least five years’ IT experience and hold a bachelor’s degree. The position requires excellent leadership and mentoring abilities.
