There are a couple of common misconceptions about work-from-home jobs. They’re low-paid. (In fact, the typical telecommuter makes $58,000 per year.) They’re primarily for working parents, particularly moms. (Actually, 80 to 90 percent of workers say they’d like to have the option to telecommute, at least part-time.) And finally, many people believe that telecommuting gigs are for more experienced workers. That isn’t always the case.

FlexJobs, a job search site for telecommuting, freelance and other flexible work, recently ran a roundup of 10 work-from-home jobs for entry-level workers, which are currently being advertised on their site. Not every job on the list is a common telecommuting role, but the scope gives you some idea of the variety of jobs that are open to entry-level workers.

Here are a few, together with median salary data for each:

1. Copy Editor

This listing is unusual, in that it offers training for newbies, provided that they have knowledge of AP Style. Still, if you have an internship or some undergrad editing experience under your belt, you might be able to talk your way into a copy-editing job outside of this opportunity. The median income for copy editors, per PayScale data, is $43,764.

2. Sales Representative

If you’re a people person, good on the phone and computer proficient, this job might be for you. Sales representatives earn a median annual salary of $41,763, according to our data, although of course your earnings will vary depending on your commission structure.

3. YouTube Content Producer and Talent

It’s hard to say how much you could earn at this job — video producers make a median annual salary of $53,961, according to our survey, while YouTube personalities can pull down anywhere from pennies to millions — but if you have kids and know your way around social media, this might be your dream telecommuting job.

4. Spanish Translator

If you’re fluent in Spanish, you qualify to apply for this part-time, 100 percent telecommuting role. Translators earn a median annual salary of $45,683, according to PayScale data.

5. Pinterest Marketer

Marketing assistants earn median annual salaries of $36,971, but data on Pinterest marketers is a little harder to come by. However, if you’re a Pinterest fan, it’s probably worth a look to see if this gig is a good fit for you.
