Now, Slack has added a podcast to their repertoire of services and products. Let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer.

1. First of all, they’ve been gearing up for this…

Do You Know What You're Worth?

Slack has a history of embracing the podcast genre, previously sponsoring podcasts such as 99% Invisible, StartUp, and Reply All. The new podcast aims to satisfy the entertainment needs of the same kinds of folks who might be drawn to their app, while staying true to the values and culture of the company.

2. The Slack podcast will present “stories about work”.

The company describes the podcast as covering, “work, life, and everything in between.” Fast Company interviewed Slack’s Bill Macaitis about the new venture.

“The idea is to present ‘stories about work and life, told in a very human voice,” he said. “Funny, inspirational, serious, innovative. It was something we hadn’t seen a lot of podcasts doing.”

There are a bunch of podcasts about work and productivity, and fantastic storytelling podcasts abound – but, Slack is hoping to bring something unique to this vast table. Talking about work in a humorous way is one of the best things about going to work – so, why not?!

3. It will be funny and also leave you with something to think about.

Stories about career moves, entrepreneurs, finding your professional bliss, and so on, are laden with asides and jokes that keep you entertained and engaged. At the same time, big ideas about work-life balance or team building, for example, could also leave you with something interesting to think about later. You could get some new ideas and perspectives that help you see your work a little differently or point you in a new and positive direction.

New episodes are coming out quickly, each about 20 minutes long. Try one out for yourself and see what you think! It could be fun, and you might learn a little something too along the way.
