Not all places are created equal in the job market, so if you want to move from your current location to another part of the country, be smart about it.

The Atlantic recently published “The Best U.S. Metros for Recent College Grads Looking for Work” and their analysis included the number of quality entry level job openings and average starting salary.

Do You Know What You're Worth?

Coming in first, by some margin, was the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metropolitan area, aka Silicon Valley. Popular large metropolitan areas like New York, Los Angeles and Chicago didn’t make the list and aren’t as promising destinations as they once were, The Atlantic said.

The worse metro areas to find work for college grads are Las Vegas, Riverside, Calif., Memphis, New Orleans and San Antonio.

But let’s keep things positive! Here is a list of the top 10 places. Click the link to be taken to PayScale’s Research Center for that specific area, where you can see the top jobs at that location, salary estimates and a host of other information.
