Topics:

If you are looking for a career in nursing, here is everything you need to know about being a nurse practitioner versus a doctor of nursing practice. Maryville University put together the below infographic to help you figure out which career path is best for you.

Becoming a nurse practitioner requires a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN), while a doctor of nursing practice requires a master of science in nursing (MSN). After you graduate, your average salary as a nurse practitioner will be $90,583, while a career as a doctor of nursing practice will earn a salary of $98,826.

A nurse practitioner collaborates with doctors and is usually responsible for diagnostic tests and diagnosing chronic conditions. They also write prescriptions and work very closely with patients. A doctor in nursing practice has more of a leadership role and manages health care delivery roles. They also have an influence on health policy and have a focus on the health care system as a whole.

I think she states that you need the respective degrees to enter the programs. I read it differently in two different places.
