The Worst Places To Drive [infographic]

Topics:

The commute to work can be stressful if you’re stuck in traffic or running late. It can be even more stressful if you’re in one of the worst places to drive. This Motor Trade Insurance infographic sheds light on the spots on the globe where commuters are better off working from home or taking mass transit.

If you’re heading into the office in Hungary, you’ll want to be extra cautious. There are 123 deaths per year for every million inhabitants and 347 deaths per year for every million vehicles. In Turkey, there are only 68 million deaths per million riders but an astounding 594 deaths per million vehicles.

Less than 90 percent of all road-related deaths happen in developing countries. This leaves the world’s worst road deaths (in relation to population) in the Cook Islands, Libya, South Africa and Iran. As for the worst traffic jams, look no further than Beijing, Houston and San Paulo.
