#PayChat: When (And How) To Quit

Topics:

It’s almost time for another #PayChat, PayScale’s monthly Twitter chat where we discuss your most burning questions about career and pay. In the past, we’ve talked about how to network your way to a new job and how to negotiate your salary. On Wednesday, April 24th, we’ll discuss the other side of the career coin – when is the right time to walk away from a job, and what is the best way to break up with your boss?

Partially inspired by the blog post about the border patrol agent turned cake maker’s “Resignation Letter on a Cake,” we’re going to talk about how knowing when and how to quit can help move you farther along in your career.

Are you feeling unfulfilled at work? Do you have a new, exciting opportunity coming your way? Do you have an inspirational story to share about how quitting a past job helped you accomplish your goals? If so, then this discussion is for you. During this 30 minute chat we will discuss how to prepare a graceful exit strategy and, perhaps more importantly, what NOT to do when leaving a job. The #PayChat on how to quit gracefully will occur on Wednesday, April 24th at 10:30 a.m. (PST). Join PayScale and other professionals in this discussion and tweet your questions, tips, tricks and advice using the hashtag #PayChat.

As if learning how to address your resignation fears wasn’t enough, we will also be giving away free PayScale mugs and stickers to random participants throughout the discussion. So don’t miss out on this opportunity to win swag while you learn how to best make a career change.

Do You Know What You're Worth?
