Topics:

It’s time to look for a job. What do you do now? The first thing you should do — and the most important thing you can do, according to this Top Counseling Schools infographic — is to create the perfect resume.

There’s a lot of competition right now in the job market. In order to get noticed, you’ll need to not only demonstrate your skills and knowledge, but tailor your resume to the specific job you’re looking for. An HR manager is going to pay a lot more attention to applicants who showed the added interest by investing a little more time and thought process into applying.

Something to remember when creating your resume is that less is more. Summarize and try to keep it down to a single page. You’ll also want to show confidence and use lots of good keywords. This is one of those rare times in life where it can actually pay to boast.
