When you picture high-paying jobs, you probably think of gigs that require a lot of education. But for every lawyer and dentist, there are a whole bunch of people who have jobs they love — with great salaries — that only required an associate’s degree.
Here’s a list of the top five, as determined by CareerBuilding and Economic Modeling Specialists.
1. Air Traffic Controller — $113,547
Not a job for the stress-averse, air traffic controllers are highly skilled — but not necessarily steeped in degrees. You can get started in this job with just an associate’s degree.
2. Radiation Therapist — $76,627
Radiation therapists prepare patients for radiation therapy. They’re in charge of managing the equipment, complying with safety and government regulations, and making sure patients are comfortable and safe.
3. Dental Hygienist — $70,408
In these days of fluoride treatments and fewer cavities, most of us spend the bulk of our time at the dentist’s office with our friendly neighborhood hygienist, who makes sure our teeth stay clean and healthy.
4. Nuclear Medicine Technologist — $69,638
Want proof that we live in the future? Look no farther than this job, which involves administering radiopharmaceuticals and radiation treatments to patients.
5. Nuclear Technician — $68,037
Think less Homer Simpson and more scientist. Nuclear technicians design and develop equipment, and study and prevent nuclear accidents.
