New App Helps You Figure Out What Your Next Raise Should Be

Topics:

Levo League, a website that gives young professional women career support and advice, has created an app to help you decipher how much to ask for in your next raise. Ask For More calculates this based on your current salary and your desired salary down the road.

“For example, according to the app, if you currently make $30,000 annually and you want to reach $150,000 in 20 years, you’ll have to ask for a 8.38 percent raise each year — or $1.26 more per hour,” writes Vivian Giang for Business Insider. “The app has not been adjusted for inflation, and calculations are based on a 40-hour work week and 50 weeks worked annually.”

Negotiating pay is certainly a daunting task and often leaves young professionals with less than they deserve because they simply didn’t know how much to ask for. This app helps fix this problem, while also encouraging equal pay in the workplace.

“April 17th signifies how far into the next year a woman must work to earn the pay a man earned the year before,” the app’s website reads.
