Millennial Customers: The Next Generation’s Great Expectations [infographic]

Topics:

If you’re between the ages of 12 and 34, then you’re considered a millennial. This means you are a part of what many arguably claim is the most unique segment of customers since the baby boomer generation, as this Business 2 Community infographic proves.

According to Nielsen, one-third of all tablet owners are millennials. An astounding 80 percent of those between the ages of 25 and 34 own smartphones. As a result, this technical generation looks to Internet outlets such as Live Chat and Virtual Assistant for a complete customer service experience.

Here’s where things get really interesting. Did you know that half of all bloggers are between the ages of 18 and 34? Sixty percent of millennials produce and upload online content, compared to 29 percent of non-millennials. T. Scott Gross at Forbes says about millennials, “They take technology for granted. They live through social media. They want the world their way, and they want it now. They have grown up in a text-it of FedEx-it, why-wait world, and they don’t expect to wait. They expect unlimited choices, and they would like you to customize your product just for them.”
