Google’s VetNet Entrepreneur Track Helps Veterans Pursue Entrepreneurship

Topics:

Military veterans have a wealth of services at their disposal aimed at helping them find civilian jobs with military-friendly companies, but Google’s VetNet Entrepreneur Track hopes to help vets dive into entrepreneurship. Will this tool inspire more service members to start their own businesses?

The goal of the Entrepreneur Track is to “help more veterans and family members open the door to economic opportunity by creating and sustaining an entrepreneurial venture,” said Jaime Winne Alvarez of the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University to Entrepreneur. The IVMF offers business courses and workshops as part of the Google+ based initiative. Veterans and their families can join Google+ hangouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and access free resources like business plan samples, funding tips and research briefs at their convenience.

The general VetNet service connects veterans with career mentors and offers resume-writing tips and job interview strategies. See more about VetNet in the video below.
