Do you think it’s a good idea to be friends with your boss on Facebook? Twenty-five percent of the worldwide population thinks so. As this infographic demonstrates, being Facebook friends with a supervisor is more common than you might realize.
A survey conducted by security company AVG shows that employees in the U.S. and Italy are most likely to be Facebook friends with their boss. Thirty-three percent of participants in both countries responded that they are. The least likely country is France, which came in at only 8 percent. The study weighed responses from 4,400 consumers in 11 countries.
Among those who are friends with their boss, workers in the Czech Republic and in Japan are least likely to protect what kind of updates and content their bosses can see, responding that they do not have restrictions in place. Worldwide, on average, only 4 out of 10 people protect their content from coworkers.
