How to Manage Millennials [infographic]

Topics:

This infographic by the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Young Entrepreneurs Council shares statistics and valuable information on how to manage millennials. This challenging group will comprise 46 percent of the workforce in the next eight years, which means there’s never been a better time than now to learn what drives and motivates Generation Y.

It goes without saying that millennials are far more tech-oriented than previous generations, and this extends to their attitudes at work. Some 64 percent of Gen Y asks prospective employers about their social media policies during a job interview, while nearly one-fourth indicated that these policies would play a major role in accepting a job offer. And 33 percent of millennials prioritize device flexibility, work mobility and social media freedom over salary when deciding on a job.

Millennials are also exceptionally entrepreneurial: 92 percent felt that today’s job market and economy makes education in entrepreneurship essential. They’re looking for career progression, personal development and training from their current jobs, and overwhelmingly prefer real-time feedback and frequent check-ins to tailor their progress. Check out more insight on how to manage millennials below.
