As the Economy Rebounds, What Professionals Are Most Likely to Switch Jobs?

Topics:

Over the past five months, the U.S. economy has generated 1 million jobs; accordingly, more workers than ever may be preparing to look for more lucrative work. This infographic by Bizo explores the job types most likely to see major turnover as the economy continues to rebound and the job sectors in which workers will probably stay put.

Consultants and IT operations professionals will be the first to leave their jobs, according to research. Consultants are 291 percent more likely than the general population to check out job search sites, while IT workers are 288 percent more likely. They’re also more likely to look at career resources sites than all workers combined — 194 percent and 219 percent, respectively.

Among the professionals that aren’t as likely to jump ship are legal professionals and professors. Legal professionals are just 80 percent more likely to peruse job search sites, while professors have seen a 43 percent decrease in their job search activity between November 2011 and March 2012.

Check out the full infographic below. As the economy improves, will you be looking for a better job, or are you planning on staying put?
