Topics:

Thinking of changing jobs? If you’re like most people, you’re probably contemplating a switch to something with more available positions, better hours, or higher pay — bonus points if you don’t have to spend a lot of cash on retraining. • Alan Page: A Hall of Fame quarterback, Page earned his law degree in 1978 while still playing football. In 1981, he retired and started his law career. He became assistant attorney general of Minnesota in 1987 and was elected to the state supreme court in 1993.

  • Martha Stewart: And here’s your daily irony alert. Were it not for a 1973 economic downturn, Martha Stewart might still be toiling away at her original career: stock broker.
