This infographic reveals some of the best cities for wage growth according to data from The PayScale Index. Houston, Seattle and Philadelphia have had the biggest increases in employee earnings since 2006, while cities like Atlanta and Georgia had some of the smallest.
Seattle, for example, saw a mind-boggling 9 percent increase in wages over the past six years. Here's what The PayScale Index had to say about the Emerald City: "Earnings for workers in Seattle continued to grow above their pre-recession levels and posted a chart-topping 3 percent year-over-year gain, the biggest in Q1 2012 of all the metros tracked by The PayScale Index."
Part of Seattle's salary success is no doubt due to its strong tech sector, but the airline and construction industries also played a significant role in bolstering the city's average wages.
