The Levo League is a brand-new service that helps millennial women find industry-relevant mentors, research their career progression, and access helpful information on "soft skills" like professional fashion tips and salary negotiation strategies.
"Levo is Latin for 'to polish' and 'elevate,' and the name is essentially connoting the fact that we are coming together as a community to mutually enhance each other's lives," said Caroline Ghosn, the CEO of Levo League. She and her cofounder Amanda Pouchot are both millennial women who lamented the lack of professional mentorship they had at their first jobs. Some of Levo League's investors include entrepreneur Gina Bianchini, Susan Lyne of Gilt Groupe and Sheryl Sandberg of Facebook.
Besides its community-based features, the Levo League also has a recruiting platform with over 100 participating companies and what it calls "office hours." These virtual open-door discussions have a different female host each week; past sessions have featured entrepreneurs, politicians and company executives. During these events, Levo users can pick the mentor's brain, and all answered questions are archived for future use. Ghosn told Mashable about a Phillippines-based coder who participated in a recent office hours session with Bianchini, adding, "When would she ever have been able to do that [before Levo]?"
